Vermont Straw, Lime & Timber.
Locally crafted.
The Whitingham Project is full to the brim with hand-selected local timber and stone architectural elements. Whether it’s round forked white oak posts, locally quarried Ashfield granite schist countertops, or a flush, live edge slate hearth, each piece was carefully chosen to play its role.
Peaceful interior and exterior spaces.
A three season screen-or-glass porch offers respite from the hot days of summer while bringing plenty of light during the darker months.
Locally sawn and crafted custom cabinetry offers utility and beauty all in one.
Traditional yet modern.
Pulling on historical elements such as timber framing and traditional lime plaster, the Whitingham project is a perfect nexus of contemporary feel and proven functionality. At SEED, we prioritize using real materials throughout the building process, and skip out on the foam, plastic and particle board. History has taught us that with the right design, natural whole materials stand the test of time, and we heed that advice.
This is your space.
Imagine curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee on a bench seat made of black walnut and sculpted lime plaster, a 16” thick window sill to rest your elbow, and a stout cruck brace overhead that helps support the standing seam roof for the next 200 years. This is what we are about. We build homes for people to experience each unique moment of their lives, and that last for a legacy.
